Editorial Policy
How we create, check, update and correct our content.
Our standards
Our job is to help readers make better buying decisions. Every article must answer a real question, give the answer early, show the reasoning and be clear about its limits.
How content is created
Writers use manufacturer specifications, manuals, warranty documents, independent lab tests, regulatory guidance and owner feedback, and our own hands-on use where we have it. We explain what specifications mean in practice instead of repeating spec sheets, and we never copy product descriptions or customer reviews from retailers.
We say how we know
Each product shows whether it was tested hands-on, used long-term or researched. We never claim testing we have not done.
Fact checking
Before publishing, an editor checks specifications, prices, claims and links. Health and safety content describes product features and points readers to professionals; it does not make medical claims.
Updates
Products change and prices move. We review our guides regularly and show the date each page was last updated. When we change a verdict, we explain why.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. See our corrections policy.
Affiliate relationships
We may earn commission from affiliate links. Commission never influences which products we recommend, the scores we give or the order of a list. See our affiliate disclosure.
Free samples and loans
When a brand lends or gives us a product, we say so in the review. Brands never see a review before it is published and cannot ask for changes.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines or editing. A named human editor reviews, fact-checks and takes responsibility for everything we publish.
